I spent yesterday afternoon reading Fashion and Style: The Best from 20 Years of i-D. I was absolutely amazed by how talented the creators were. Those street shots were extremely advanced. Look at those people's style, they're still trendy today. I saw so many elements that are "in" now. So here are some pictures of the very first issues of i-D. 
Nixon in Taiwan
I found this picture of Nixon in Taiwan with Pat Nixon and the Chiang Kai-shek couple interesting. As someone who studies Nixon, this is the first time I see him in white suit. And if you take a closer look, Mrs. Chiang's high heels are still quite trendy today.

Old Perfume Ad
Don't get me wrong, I love perfume ads today. But sometimes I can't help but thinking them a little--how to put it--too literal. Old perfume ads, in contrast, are more ambiguous, indirect. I used to see an old perfume ad from Worth, which was abstract. But it made me very happy. Making people "feel" the perfume, I think that's what perfume ads should do.
